She Got Married

by Christopher Shin

Time freezes as I
ponder over your fate
as I gulp down red
in my defeat.

Nobody will ever remember
the deeds that I have done,
and what I hope to accomplish.
Cause the world is bleak in
my own defeat.

The world becomes a velvet
color as I try to piece together
my youth as I am bombard with
the future in all it's tenses.

You'll never understand the
struggles I'm going through,
and people say that I choose these
incidents before they are pre-ordained.

Who would ever chose a fate like mine?
Cause the pain is more obvious then
the reward in my line of sight.
Let me die with the rest of them,
and let my story end like the best of them.

I'll be remembered for my complaints,
and my views of the world even how
obsure they may seem in the end.
I'll drain the last drop of the glass,
as you laugh at my plight.

Cause I'm not you and you'll never understand
my choices in this empty world.

Wonderful Christopher! The language is very direct, but regret, longing, and sadness are beneath the words.

pangs of regret for the bleakness and strange chill of starlight
