Dancer (the Light Fantastic)

by Karl Waldbauer

Have I told you
how empty my busiest day is without you?
Did I mention
how cold a sweltering night is when you’re not by my side?

I have to remind myself
who I am so as to not lose my identity when we kiss.
You make a cup of tea for me …
I am lavished with the richness of love.

Surely this is how my life was intended to be;
at peace with the world
when I dance in your universe.

I smiled big reading this, since I am lucky enough to know exactly what you mean. I think all the words are perfect, but I think more/changed line breaks in (first 3 lines) would help the form.

i one closes their eyes softly, the light tracers from this dancer run through one's head... beautiful, karl... blessings...

this is beautiful ... i have a belief that intimacy is an identity exchange ... so you are not exactly losing yourself ... but seeing yourself in the eyes of your partner
