Mad World

by Barbara Griffith

So glamour filled, glitzy with it's neon signs.
(The roads to heaven are paved with gold, they tell me.
I say the road to hell is paved with the broken wings of angels.)

More fleeting than any cartoon show,
it's just a trend.
(If sex sells then suicide must be a multi-million corporation.)

The crossroads has two options; and neither is happy to see you.

Author's Note: "I think it's kind of funny, I think it's kind of sad. the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had." - Mad World, Gary Jules
