Can I Lament Further?

by Beth K Hannah

I'm restless as sun drying sheets
I ache to feel wind in my skin
I wanted my blood on those sheets
Wishing I had never turned my eyes down
Now I am possibly adrift
Tasting the cold of the sea
Wish salt didn't feel so good.

He'd make me raw if he could
Crying and melancholy
My hands lack a design to shape myself
Wish I had open eyes.

I wish he'd dance and play the guitar
Bury me in piles of dusk dreams
Freeing my aura from being safe.

I still don't know how to open and close doors
Or draw or sing or make love
I just wait for grass to turn
Hope to be inspired.
