she made me by Charlie Morgan
she made me
remember that time when i fell
down the hill of love?
i had tripped on the infatuation
of your green eyes, dimples,
and a smile that sparkled.
your mom's piano bench, our back seat
and moments that lasted days
as my heart longed for a glimpse
of the future.
my first real love clothed in the hope
of a sixteen candle cake, that never
appeared instead replaced later
by a wedding cake pronouncing
a lasting love.

Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 11/29/05 at 05:37 PM ahh time & romance. i like this piece in its simplicity...yet the meaning could be twisted into the idea that you married your highschool sweetheart. either way, it's a floating piece with light intentions, but with love of course, there is always weight looming somewhere. great piece chaz. this site needs more good romance like this. |
