History Class by Deborah S ReganI sat through the classes,
learned that 1492 was a good year
and 1776 was a very good year
but 1918 and 1941 weren't so good
1932: not so good either
for that matter, throw in 1861 and
1865, if you want to talk about Lincoln
and I could ball it up into yarn
and put it on notecards
and say I understood and make high marks
but I can't tell you what's going now
or what went on five years ago,
or what my childhood meant,
or what history is
a good year is one that you don't remember 12/08/2004 Posted on 12/08/2004 Copyright © 2025 Deborah S Regan
