Here I Stand (v3)

by David Neubauer

Emotions run, like paint in a rainstorm,
running together, running away.

Today's forecast starts
with a wild swath of Blue,
explosive, indignant,
followed by a subtle stroke of Brown,
guilty, slinking slowly toward the horizon.
Purple bubbles over with exuberance, dancing
with Green that wants nothing more than solitude
to contemplate, scheme on how to kill the
maniacal, flashy Red. The Black, definitive, pensive,
sits shyly across from the White, glaring at the clouds,
daring them to move further across the sky,
and bring their shadows.

Here I stand,
in the middle of this rainstorm,
ready to paint something true, something beautiful.
Something truly beautiful,
like lightning,
like me.

I loved how you gave colors a personality, but my favorite part is, "Something truly beautiful, like lightning like me." It was the perfect ending. Great job.
