Christmas Tree Lot

by Mary Ellen Smith

four corners of a corner lot
lights strung and flags flapping

sawdust floor

jingle bell tape on a loop
reindeer pen and children giggling

pine forest

flocked trees in a tent
cars humm with heaters on

jute twine

sailors knots bumper to bumper
windshield wipers

home to decorate

You nailed the Christmas lot with this one Mar. Mine is found standing proud in the attic each year...Charlie (With the lights on it and like me ready to be lit)

Mary Ellen -this is such a good painting of a tree lot this time of year.Lights and things flapping. A great terse verse.

Great description of the annual ritual of selecting the Christmas tree.

The only thing missing is the hot chocolate, and the giggling. Oh, but that's my Christmas memory this year...hehehe. Wonderful, and I'm so glad we found each other's libraries!
