Paradox of Facades

by S. Pelham Flood

I live in a glass house
don't throw stones--

I live peacefully in my world
free of your vitriolic tongue
and the lashings you spit
in futile attempt to save
you from your fears.

I wear my fears on my sleeve,
with my fierce stares and a penchant
for articulated observance
--read my pages, I'm open--

I stand strong inside
these translucent walls.

You live behind brick
and it's false security

it blinds you.
