Looking for Peace

by James Zealy

An everlasting quest
Different situations never pass the test
A hope a smile a sense of ease
Yet a temporary sensation where is the peace?

Passion a rollicking roller coaster ride
The ebb and flow like the oceans tide
when its up euphoria reigns
When down depression rules the domain

A ray of sun a rocking boat
The water lapping against the shore
Fish jumping playing hunting
The ultimate realm of nature’s bliss

Images of brightness fragrant scents
Beautiful oranges browns Yellows as the sun sets
The day begins passes ends
Still looking for the steady state of emotional balm

Seeking looking in all the wrong places
Expecting calm relaxation in things and faces
The search never ending
Life lived hoping desiring just within reach
Yet escaping what does it teach?

At long last the revelation transcends
All things material in the end
Searching for peace is a short exam
When we discover a spiritual plan

This was a pleasure to read.
The planner's always watching over us. This poem reminds gratitude. Gratitude is the gateway to the stars. You've launched me out into your quest. In the oft offered words of my children, "Are we there yet?"
