Unspoken by Christel CrewsThere were words not spoken
Spanning time till one morning
She awoke and realized
She could not remember those
Simple words
Spoken softy
Saving her
From herself
There were words not spoken
As days turned to weeks
Another heart grew cold
She could not remember
His eyes gazing longingly into
Her own
Forgotten
Mundane
Pondering
Her sad, secluded state
There were words not spoken
When she could not hide behind
The fake smile she contrived
The tears fell for she saw
For the first time
That she
Settled too low
Then reached to high
Only to have
Her heart broken
One too many mistakes
