Born Ignorant by A.M. DemarcoAt first
there was only seamless unity
At first
there was the unbroken connection
At first
there was no pain
But
without warning or reason given
the stillness
the spun glass caccoon
was shatttered.
A breath of wind-
up my spine
round my throat
over my shoulders
Light speed rapture so quickly
I can't remember what it felt like...
It came from outside.
Outside -----> Inside
Past. / Present. / Future.
"Hello?"
Excuse me...I'm sorry to intrude on this silence
but I was wondering
(I was wondering!)
I was hoping you would come back again
I want
I want to recall, at will
every moment
every movement
every synapse
every nerve ending
I need
I need to know...
I need to know someone, something is out there
out there?
Can anybody hear me?
Touch me, hold me, feel me - tell me this is real
something more than delusion, hallucination...
It's cold here.
There is earth.
My feet won't let go.
And space - endless space... Hell
Damn!
Shit!
Fuck!
Fuck? Sex. Home.
It seems so far away now, home.
It was just infront of my face
And then just out of reach
And now - it's lost over the horizon.
But the fire is still burning,
alone in a maze without any walls. 11/29/2004 Author's Note: First draft of Act I, scene i of a new epic - lost on earth. Imagine a black stage and one ray of light fading into an uncomfortable ambient glow
