Paper Ties by Trisha De GraciaThese paper ties are flying.
There I was
in coloured newsprint.
You could see my my words
in mirrored smudge
across your fingers.
But here I am
to fly your banner.
Here I am
to hold your cross.
Here I am
to stamp your headlines
on my naked
gritted teeth
and smile
and smile away.
I was there
to sing my sparrow's song.
Now caged
I send
these paper ties.
These paper ties are flying. 11/28/2004 Posted on 11/29/2004 Copyright © 2024 Trisha De Gracia

Posted by Richard Vince on 11/29/04 at 04:57 PM mm. interesting. reminds me a little of one of mine, oddly. it's called 'paper prophets' and is probably in 2001 or 2002 folder. |
Posted by J. P. Davies on 12/01/04 at 09:06 PM I completely understand. It's funny because all he does is coo about how great you are to me. Apparently he's trying to be "motivational" and help your combo "to the next level." I don't understand his techniques but I guess his heart is in the right place. |
