Away

by Alison McKenzie

I will not go
Away
Beyond sunset and fire-flicker
The persuasion of the new flame
Securing the bond of warmth and safe
Reminder winds of strange comfort
Outside

I will not go but
A way
Made from stones and ash
Dung and blossoms
The air is expectant-rich with
New fruit of immortality’s love

Away
Someplace I’ve all at once never been
Ever present breath of soul and tongue
Living water
Take me down
Palace of royal grace
I’ve been granted adoption into The Kingdom
Purchased with the offering of blood and purest years
My only gift is obedience

You made for me
A way
And here I will be
Forever Yours.

Very nicely done. I like it a lot. The conflicting imagery is a very good touch.
