Rain Comes Down

by Charles J Hannan

You didn't have to say a word
I could see it in your eyes
You didn't have to fill me in
I knew this was the last goodbye

And as I thought back to the better days
Of all the good times that we made
I heard the locks click on your suitcase
Now my sunny days are in the shade

Will this really be the ending
Of a beautiful story
About a love so comprehending

Now you're on my mind
As the rain comes down
Pouring down

Charles, I don't know much about songwriting, but this is the start of some good lyrics. Just a suggestion (take it or leave it), maybe you could equate the locks clicking with a thought or realization that clicks in your mind, and other images the same way. Good luck with the revision, I look forward to seeing it.
