what's left of us: a silhouette

by Emily Davidson

i can see the frame of your body
from a distance, and recognize
the ribs i used to wrap my arms around, and
the hands that would hold me

but for now you are just
shapes
to me;
you are a dying memory,
a silhouette in the sun
