Taking a Lover through Snow

by Angela Cotterman

When we reach inside
let me sit in your lap
wet
our mittens
and scarves
scattered
hot chocolate boiling over
on the burner
Take me
across your knees
our skin tingling
and I will pray
that winter
lasts just long enough
to strand us
together
after coming.

Quite a scene you paint here...oh those winter nights...
