"In My Shoes"

by Max Phineas

If you walked a mile in my shoes, you wouldn’t ever notice a difference between us
For a mile runs only as long as my breath is deep
If I gave you my shoes in which you strode ten miles
You may start to notice the lack of sleep
If for 100 miles you dared to pace
You would feel the tension when my heart begins to race
And at 1000 miles of each struggling step
You would witness my problems in painful depth
But only after a million miles of following my path
Would you realize the hatred and my visions of wrath
For it is only then that you could truly see
The rage that consumes me completely

Great poem as usual Molly. I love the flow to it.
