I Fall Apart as You Fall Asleep

by Amanda J Cobb

Worn out and stretched thin
from endless nights
spent watching subtitled movies
from countries I've never seen
because I couldn't sleep
with this heart full of unasked questions
since I reminded you that
I'll be boarding a plane
for the other side of the world soon,
and you laid complacent next to me,
only saying that it will be
interesting.

Showing the different ways of how people deal with things, or maybe the different intensities in which we feel... great read that takes you to different levels of feeling. Love the alternate title.

interesting, the word we use when we don't know what to say or won't say what comes to mind. One of the 'polite words unless you think about it. But I do like your poetry. 'Interesting' how that last word has all of its letters on the top line.
