Consumption by Shonda Chrissonberrymurky waters
full of yesterday
nipping at my toes
ankles wet
casually pushing aside
this abyss
Im wading through
knee deep
in nothingness
looking down
not seeing in
the darkness of
the rush
halfway there
my fingertips
piercing the skin
of depression
all around me
immersing myself
within love's void
slowly taking my place
it kisses at my neck
so cold
so inviting
the bitterness against my cheek
the exit of my vision
my last step into
all I have ever wanted
what I have never received
drowning in you
forever
