The Phantom Violin by Kenneth LauOn edge
In the middle of the night
The harsh melody
Pouring from the suffering soul
The dreams of sweet sorrow
Sung true on the strings
Shrill and desperate
Cries of pain
Sung true on the strings
As the moonlight
Spills upon my face
I am haunted not by fear
But rather unattainable beauty
Sung true on the strings
Sharp breaths bite the lungs
In my uneasy slumber
The longing for love
In the middle of the night
Sung true on the strings
The hour in which
Unattainable beauty
Is attained
Sung true on the strings
Let the night never end
Let the moon and stars
Never give up their magic
And retreat from the light of the sun
Let the pale light
Of sweet midnight sorrow
Sung on the strings
Last an eternity. 11/08/2004 Author's Note: I went to a senior recital (violin) and it reminded me of this. So up it goes, even though it was up prior to my "leave of absence" :-P

Posted by Ava Blu on 12/06/04 at 03:30 AM I like this a lot. Of course I am a big fan of the violin. I also like how you used "sung true on the strings" repeatedly...very good flow to it! |
