Blasphemer

by Teri T Lahmon

The universe swirls in your eyes
stars form their existence from the heated glow of your smile
Your omnipotent palms harden void into peaks
under your fingertips puddles pool
gathering warm and dark in the valley.

The kingdom of heaven is in your lips
and I, kneeling in reverence, find salvation at your touch.
I hear my name, an angel's song
carried in notes up from your throat
And in this moment

You are the only God I seek.

Author's Note: this poem was inspired by a stripper I saw a few weeks ago...when I watched him dance I swear I could hear angels sing.
