The Closet

by S. Pelham Flood

There’s a void where you stand.
Where unexpected radiance bleeds
out, staring me in the heart;
urging a decision that’s comfortably
secluded in the darkness I once lived—
the darkness that coiled its girth
around me in vain attempt to vanquish
all meaning from my arteries.

It came close you know, way fucking close.
Like Neo’s encounter with that freezing
molten silver, it coursed through my pipes
reprogramming my every sequence.
Bastardly urging reconnection
to the very same constructs
which ultimate bliss, meaning
and freedom requires us to reject.

Author's Note: This one is still in progress, I need a little input and help on it. Especially the title. All suggestions are welcome!
