love poem

by Emily G Myers

When you leave, my heart goes too
I'll see you when the moon is new.
I've tissue-paper knees when you smile;
All this work is so worthwhile.
Do you know my love for you?
I'll stay the same no matter what you do.
My heart bursts with flaming love
Known only by me and Venus above.
Such an impact you have on me!
My twin s-elf, oh, can it be?
I know my ranting comes from dreaming,
But my heart is always scheming.
You untangled my black-tangled heart.
You're my Cabbage Patch doll and cherry tart.
I dream of you when morning's near;
You smile at me and wipe away a tear.
God's Divine plan for us;
We will take it without a fuss.
The angels will bless all you do
Because they know my love for you.
The stars and planets all agree;
They know that you're the one for me.
