I know the spark is there sometimes
I can't deny I've felt it in the past
it's been a while since I've been there
put in that situation
to feel the spark I used to know
the spark I felt with an Irish boy
and with the son of a preacher man
even felt it with a bit of a druggie
and a few jerks from time to time
some were worthwhile and others not
some are friends now and others not
some were gracious and others not
I haven't felt a spark in a while
and this one's a little strange
but a strange spark may be better than none at all
though I don't know what to make of it
and I certainly can't find out
patience may be my only key
sitting on the top of some ten-story glass table
and I'll have to eat a cookie to get to it
causing an awful lot of strife
but I'll push through all that
cause a strange spark may be better than none at all
