dive
skyclad
into a frozen pond
littered
with razor-sharp
ice shards

run
breathless
through the forest
winter-worn, scratched
by leafless branches

walk
carelessly
within a waist-high wheat field
overflowing
with snakes
and their charmers

we'll all do these once or twice -
cause ourselves pain even if we know it hurts
leave only to find ourselves scratched by what we leave for
get into something we can't escape from safely

and that's life
but life isn't about situations
it's about how we handle those situations
