The hippies cut their hair
When we needed length the most
I heard John say 'The dream is over'
But why stop dreaming now?
Just because one dream fails
It doesn't mean they all will

Well, we lost Jimi and Janis that year
And people stopped speaking of the dream
Stopped saying 'All you need is love'
Now they needed money and security
But these are things we could live without
Just look at life before industry
