So you're taking a break from you and me
To find out who in the world you might be
Would I be a coward to let you walk away?
Or if I could remember every word you said today?
How my breathing came so forced and deep
All the tears inside I desperately tried to keep

Just a few words sent my brain into motion
Just your glance turned a tear to an ocean
I'm trying so hard to turn from the past
But the things I love most don't seem to last

So I'll give myself time, as I've given to you,
And I know in my heart, our time isn't through
You're too good a person to put me aside
And you know that my point can't be denied
So here's your time - find out who you are
I hope that you'll realize that you're a shooting star
