your chandelier by Emily G Myers*for 'Chihuly Over Venice'
Your chandelier hangs gracefully
Like some woman's hip
Like a hand on your cheek
Those greens and blues...
Where do you find inspiration?
In dolphin tails
Flying Dutchman sails
I love the glass blowers
Whose flame and heat make the beauty
Of your chandelier
He cried when he left Mexico
On to Venice to spread your chandelier's light
I'm going to sneak a peek
Through the windows of your factory
To see the curve of a woman's body
Medusa's wild curled hair...
Man, wandering artist,
You're the child who doesn't want to go home
But you've helped me find my home
