standing stone

by Emily G Myers

He said 'Don't you miss me?'
I said 'Of course I do.'
But he didn't believe me
He knew I was looking elsewhere
And somehow he didn't care
I wanted him to stop me
To say 'Here, look at me!'
But he turned his head
He knows this is punishment
So I'll stop looking elsewhere
I'll go back and say to him,
'Here, look at me!'
Because he won't say it to me

Author's Note: called "GETTING HIS ATTENTION (FOR THOSE ON THE STANDING STONE)" but I don't know who it's about.
