is it us

by Charlie Morgan

is it us

when you say it's you
you really mean it's me.
you think I don't know doublespeak?

I can tell when the crust of love
has grown soggy with years,
familarity breeds contempt, you know.

so, I'll see you in a few years
when my missing you has far
outrun my disgust with you.

Ain't this always the way things go! People think they can fool us with mere words, but as word artist we can see/read between the wavy lines. lol
