Giving In

by Angel J McRae

Come, unravel me tonight.
Tear your way through the layers,
Baring fresh freckled skin
With slight movements of your hands.
But don’t go too far,
It’s still new.
You’re left wanting more,
And secretly, so am I.
Now trying to tempt me with “accidental” brushes
Over softer, more vulnerable patches of skin.
Unfortunately, for me, it’s working.
But to your dismay, I will not give in.
My eyes are closed,
But I can still feel your stare,
The dark, smooth brown circles
Penetrating my skin.
Blue veins throbbing inside
To a heart racing with quickened breath

Give in
Give up
Let go
Succumb
