alone

by Shonda Chrissonberry

he sleeps alone
night after night
dreaming of her

his thoughts still warm with her presence

his Angel for a time

she sleeps alone
night after night
missing his touch

her heart still cold from his grip

her Sinner now unseen

they wake alone
morning after morning
and reach for the Emptiness

their Souls never to entwine again

Dieties to each for all eternity

Sounds sad and so lonely. Are they being punished by the Gods of paradise? Or its just their life situations, again controlled by the gods.
