invaded

by Charlie Morgan

hey, you

will the person who invaded my molecules of oxygen,
my aura of a pink mesh-bag of good karma,
by kicking-in my front door to my innocous
womb of daily life and helped themselves
to metal objects that spin life out loud
into ears that call noise music and defile
all of my perception of humanity, and with
one fell swoop began to change my answer
to the philosopher’s question is man basically good
or basically bad?, will you fix what you broke?
my bane is belief—in good so I’m feign to say
good but hewing-away of this fertilefield of trust
am I, plodding along hoping that the kid I just
passed is not the one who stole my trust of humanity.
it could be; also it could not be.

I hate it when someone stomps all over my belief in the basic goodness of mankind - you've illustrated this feeling beautifully.
