Corporeal

by Ryan M Evon

Night strangles every light
As I try to make my way home
White shape there on the right
Fog line is where it lives to roam

A bright white wolf stalks prey
It is gone before I can blink
Away, but still it stays
A ghost in retina, I sink

See it has fangs for me
Though it stays on the other side
Flee, I know I must flee
Or it will cross and take my hide

Even when I can't see
My heart knows it is stalking me
