In Here, This House of She by H.M StevensA picture of happiness:
a sparrow perched on the bough,
the blue oak that
hangs through my front yard-
As if they arrive from two different worlds
Along the cement trail,
flowered in wet leaves,
leading to my red front door,
A picture of love:
from beneath that oak I crawl,
crimson tosses, stuns
Wings flap in wild ways,
from beyond the messengers bed
Eyes of sunshine-luster
steal a glance
Shower me,
in blazing underscores-
Home
a picture of happiness
a picture of love.
