Do You Believe In Fairys?

by J. P. Davies

If you believe in fairy tales,

I'll take time for convincing.

A void where you were lost,

and Chivalry was dead there,

left a dreamstate on you.

But white horses pulled up,

framing silhouettes,

against the setting sun.

The bleeding sun was evidence,

of Happily Ever After's demise.

Shadow was only proof of light,

and I still burned to shine.

I've never wanted so terribly,

to wake you from sleep.

Let fly a banner of freedom,

to fly behind our lonely passage.

But, if Magic was missing,

and never left a forwarding address,

he force brewed a potion

with which to heal our scars.

So standing silently alone,

in the grey afterlight.

Could you answer?

Do you believe in fairy tales?
