She Doth Live Here, In

by H.M Stevens

A picture of happiness,
A sparrow perched on the bough,
the blue oak that
hangs into my front yard.

Along the cement trail,
flowered in wet leaves
leading to my red front door-

A picture of love,
From underneath that oak I crawl,
Crimson tosses, and stuns.

Wings flap in wild ways,
from beyond the messenger’s bed-
Those eyes of sunshine luster
steal a glance,

Shower me in blazing underscores-

welcome
Home.

a picture of happiness,
a picture of love.
