Music Train by Alison McKenzieThis music is a train
And I have the fare to ride!
Take me back there
For just a breath.
The sweetest déjà vu,
And there we are,
Sipping champaign -
Electric brush of your fingertips;
God, but you move me;
The notes swirling into the mix,
Etching the moment in reverie.
A place revisited
On the music train.
Take me back.
Take me back.
09/25/2004 Author's Note: My memory of native american flutes with violins, champaign and seafood brunch at a resort John and I visited. Seems like a lifetime ago. There was such sweetness on the fringes...the kind of sweet that makes me cry.

Posted by Rula Shin on 09/25/04 at 10:35 PM What a charming and flowing poem to capture such a beautiful and enchanting memory, I think the poem itself sings and dances, overflowing with color and I find myself wanting to whistle or hum...it's like nostalgia found you in the perfect moment for writing, and in this sweet little piece is a heart full of laughter and smiles, happy times. |
Posted by James Zealy on 09/27/04 at 06:17 PM I enjoyed this. Music touches places where nothing else can go. It is such an emotional roller coast ride when the right chord is touched. |
