The Night Weeps

by T.J. Carver

Thank you for the night we shared,
The Byron and Moore that we compared,
As you recited from Macbeth,
Something stirred within; I wept.

Thank you for the night we shared,
The casual glances of those who dared
To seek each other's whispered breath.
Something stirred within; I wept.

Thank you for the night we shared,
The tenderness in the humid air,
Sadly we kissed, sadly we left,
Something stirred within; I wept.

As I wept, that stirring within
Helped discover myself again.

Beautiful poem. I can feel your emotions almost like I was there. Hold on to that and don't let it go. Whatever fuels your poetry is definitely amazing.
