Perfect Harmony

by Thomas K. Hunt

You were born the year John died
When crying candles light the sky
That cold December I watched him leave
By way of blank faces
Tears of disbelief
That winter a part of me said good-bye
Never knowing of your new brown eyes

Your history is made from my glory days
When there were four
And the music that they played
A revolution
A lonely-hearts club band
From across the universe
I want to hold your hand

Though your footsteps covered my tracks
We weren't watching
We didn't know the facts
Now looking back and doing the math
It's nice to know that we share the same path
We share the music of then and of now
We share so much and understand how
We have found a joy that's been lost
Now that our two paths have crossed

Special moments now make up our lives
The way we see each other in our eyes
We will remember these good times that we have
The good-byes to
The way they make us sad
And when you hear an old familiar song
Just imagine that I’m singing along
Find your smile among the melody
Ease your mind in perfect harmony
