Being and Nothingness

by Charlie Morgan

Being and Nothingness

Nothingness squirms and undulates and then sighs:
Being is born.
Being squirms and undulates and then sighs:
Essence is born.
Essence squirms and undulates and then sighs:
Meaning is born.
Meaning squirms and undulates and then sighs:
Motion is born.
Then Movement, then Distance, then Reach, then Discovery,
then Acknowledgement, then Recognition, then
Awarness, then Concern, then Wariness, then Fear,
then Murder.

Then, emerging on the horizon, like the moon
over Rio, looms—Nothingness, again.

I understand the progression, but don't necessarily agree with the end of it, Of course, I haven't experienced that part of the circle yet, so I might not have enough life to tell...At any rate, interesting observation, and I thoroughly enjoyed the way you used these words to describe it.
