The Gift

by James Zealy

A season of joy of giving
A symphony of lights and color
Reminiscent of the brilliant star
That led 3 hopeful men from afar
To fulfill a destiny of hope for all

Their story begins and ends
With a child aglow
Adorned in swaddling clothes
At rest in a manger in Bethlehem

A people’s king a savior of souls
Born to bear the weight
Of human weakness and sin
Gods gift of ultimate love
His son wearing the image of mortal man

A gift of hope peace and tranquility
Whose simple price
Is defined by our faith
In Christ Jesus our Lord.

Author's Note: I wrote this sometime ago in celebration of the Christmas season. Not my best, but it is a reminder to me of what the Christmas season is supposed to be about.

And all too often these days people DO forget what it's about. Good job reminding us all.
