How The Giving Is Done

by Brian Francis

A man walked upon the earth
Two thousand years ago
This man he was more than just a man
Don't you know
He touched those afflicted
with pain and with sorrow
And soon all the pain and grief
Was driven from their soul

He had many things to say
About the present and the future
He spoke of the spirit
Represented in a dove

He often said that kindness
is the way to fight off evil
He always showed that kindness
is the way to bring out love

Another came before him
Who baptized with water
But when he walked upon the earth
He baptized with Love

He spoke of the good things
that Life had to offer
He told of the father
who was watching from above

He said it's not who you love
It's more how you love them
It's not to whom you give
It's how the giving is done.

Then they nailed him to a cross
and hung him high above them
they pierced his side with a spear
they thought the battle won
.
His Life he did give for us
His Love was rather simple
He hung upon a wooden beam
While the soldiers all made fun

With thunder in the distance
his Breath it soon did leave him
While movement deep within the earth
Sent those watching to the ground

He let them do this to him
Although he could have stopped them
He chose to rectify the past
By shedding his own blood

He showed us it's not who you love
It is more the way you love them
He showed it's not to whom you give
It's how the giving is done

Man I wish more people would look at that aspect of it. Focus less on word technicalities and excuses to hate.
