East (Please touch me)

by Beth K Hannah

Dear blood flow, I know each secret
She keeps them inside-

splatters of herself.
Trying to be something to write home about.

If only he would look to the east, he'd
See heaven in her eyes
Sunshine in her smile
Enough love to last a life time
Curled around in her hair.

He is blind to the roads he travels
The beast and fey tempt him
With shackles of gold
He wants to block out their conquests, he can't
Roll away
From their destruction.

Her mutilated heart must hang to her knees
Lamenting as it tosses and turns
To find the sea.
Her skin feels like jagged glass
Her eyes leak out gasoline
She begs for a match
To destroy all her love.

If only he'd look to the east.

She come alive with color and roses, again
Beauty infinite

He passes by on his way
To a quieter place
With less expectations.

I can feel her sorrow drip down to the ground.

Such a sad and pretty lament. I especially love the gasoline eyes.
