Gullible

by Alison McKenzie

Sell me all your beachfront property
In the Mid-west
Cause I’m richer than dirt.
Tell me twelve stories
And tell me they’re all true -
I’ll believe you, I’ll believe you.
Pour your sad weeping willows
Right onto me -
I’m a sponge, I’ll soak ‘em all up
And squeeze back out a sweet little ditty
About hope and longsuffering.
I’m a happy camper,
Smiling idiot.
Haul off and wack me a good one
Cause I got more where that come from!
Delusional universe
Of my simple mind,
Sweet smelling peace blossoms
(Your icy words notwithstanding)
I had a dream
And I can’t wake up.

Author's Note: I really have no idea where this came from. Just poured out.

Sometimes you just gotta let it flow and come out like this.

I like the flow of this. Great write. I have a lot of poetry that I have no clue where it came from, lol.
