In an Over-Sanitized World, I Prefer to be Dirty

by Amanda J Cobb

I have not showered today.

I did not want to watch our shared love
flow in speeding, sweaty rivulets
down a dirty drain.

I wanted to wear you,
me,
us
as light as oil on my skin,
a glisten in my hair,
and a half-turned-up smile on my lips,
the part of me that you found last night
gently purring all the while.

This is so natural and beautiful. An almost spiritual manner of dealing with the sensual self. Great read that should be required reading for all lovers.

The free spirit and selflessness of this poem are really great. You have a special talent ... honesty.
