Lunch Break by Richard VinceWhite hair, slightly tanned face,
Black shirt...she is
An essay in almost monochrome,
Dull against a black-painted
Bench catching the September Sun.
The early afternoon breeze makes
Waves in the weeping willow
Floating beyond her,
Ascending from lush green
To aging yellow, standing out
Against diluted blue sky.
The shadows sway lazily as
She makes ready to return
To her day's work, then
Turns her back to the Sun
And to me. 09/02/2004 Posted on 09/02/2004 Copyright © 2024 Richard Vince
