......when I wear my boots

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

When I put on my boots and lace them up past my knee,

I become someone else, and forget about me.

I pull my little red kilt up just pass my ass,

I barely know who is staring back in the glass.

I walk a little taller and swing my hips,

As my tongue rolls over my painted red lips.

I turn up the music and spin around,

And dance until my ass hits the ground.

Only for you will I become her,

and only for you can I shutter and purr.
