HandFul of Fur by Omi SalaveaHandFul of Fur
In the palms of my two hands, i hold a discarded Easter present a child's lost friend a fuzzy, fast-breath, ball of nerves.
Tossed outside like an stack of old newspapers, or worse, a stray dog's new chew toy...
Sure, maybe his eyes are pink and almost scary, and his ear's aren't very long. Maybe his nails are a little overgrown, or he chewed on someone's TV power cord.
Supposed his charm wore thin through the months Or maybe his owner bought a dog? Possibly children tired of him, as children do of things, Maybe he was more than someone could handle, but i can handle this adorable ball of joy, with my own two hands. 08/30/2004 Author's Note: Please don't throw your unwanted pets out on their own. There are plenty of SPCA's, Humane Centers, and No-Kill shelters willing to accept them.
I found a bunny this saturday hopping along, near my place. My place has plenty of predatorial cats, and curious dogs in the area. There's also a large road waiting for a mishap to occur.
Can you live with the fact that a housebroken bunny rarely lasts more than a month out in the wild?
This was some kid's unwanted Easter present. I'm glad i saved him. But saving and rescuing animals costs money...I may have a big heart, but i don't have a big paycheck, and i have allergies. Fortunately, i have a little bit of help from Rabbit Rescue of Virginia, but i still need to foster him until we find him a safe, forever, loving home.
